Kissling gear units for the Roosevelt Island Tramway
POMA was awarded the contract for replacing the famous Roosevelt Island Tramway in New York. The world famous cable transport supplier has been cooperating with the Swiss gear unit manufacturer Kissling for more than 28 years.
The five KD-500 bevel-helical gear units left our factory on time in June 2009 and are currently being installed.

The Roosevelt Island Tramway is an aerial cable car in New York City (USA), connecting Roosevelt Island with Manhattan. Roosevelt Island was planned as a low traffic residential area; in 1976, it was connected to Manhattan using the Roosevelt Island Tramway.
